ATP roundup: de Minaur reaches final at Zhuhai

Alex de Minaur beat France's Adrian Mannarino 7-6 (4), 6-4 in the final of the Zhuhai Championships on Sunday (Sept 29) to claim his third title of the year. "I've got a psychologist which I talk to every day and it's been a big help", said the young Australian.

De Minaur won 79 per cent of his first-service points and didn't face a break point to secure victory in two hours and five minutes.

His trophy in China will sit alongside the ones he won in his hometown Sydney and Atlanta earlier this year.

"He's one of the toughest guys to play, very tricky, and in that first set I had so many chances and I wasn't able to break him, so I just had to make sure I stayed calm and just kept on backing myself, stay positive and I was able to play some great points to turn the tie-break around and that first set was huge".

"I finally got the break in a really close game at the beginning of the third set and that gave me a push up and I was able to finish well too".

"If I can try to bring this level nearly every week, then I'll be going deep in tournaments and beating these top guys and pushing for titles".

The No. 4 seeds from Belgium fought past Marcelo Demoliner of Brazil and Dutchman Matwe Middelkoop 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4).

Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta outlasted Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-6 (3) to earn his fourth career title in Chengdu, China.

Spaniard Carreno-Busta, meanwhile, defeated eighth seed Denis Shapovalov of Canada 6-3 6-4 to advance through for his first ATP Tour championship match since 2017.
