Game Preview: Rams seeking fourth straight win over NFC West foe Seahawks

His previous single-game high had been 95 receiving yards, reached against the Washington Redskins on September 17, 2017, in his second National Football League appearance. Matthews, though, hit Wilson on time - making clean contact with him less than a second after the ball left his hand, if that.

Week 5 is here and things are starting to settle down, bad teams are proving how bad they are, good teams are showing they're on their way to the playoffs and tonight we've got a matchup of two "good" teams.

In the second quarter, at the Seahawks' 20-yard line, Gurley rushed for three yards but was stripped by Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who also recovered the ball.

Wilson's stellar night was nearly overshadowed - but Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein missed a 44-yard field goal attempt with 11 seconds to play and Seattle emerged with the victory in a key NFC West division clash.

Nearly instantly, fans took to social media to complain about the call.

Throughout the first quarter of the season, McVay explained away Gurley's limited use as a result of the rhythms of a game. They're now 27-5-1 in prime time since Carroll arrived in 2010, with this victory improving the NFL's best winning percentage in such games.

The victor of this game, with both teams at 3-1, moves into second place in the rugged NFC West behind the unbeaten San Francisco 49ers. "He's going to continue to make a lot of big kicks for us", Rams coach Sean McVay said. The Rams' wide receivers of Brandin Cooks, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods might be the best trio in the NFL. Chris Carson is their lead back and he's run well, especially last week where he finished with 157 total yards, but he's not scored since week 1 and fumbled three games in a row.

After stellar displays in Week 2 and 3, when he combined for 21 receptions and 233 yards, Locket had just four catches for 51 yards last week. That helped Seattle hold the Rams to a field goal.

The Seahawks are a near-perfect 7-0-2 against the number in their last nine games played on Thursday.

It's common for Super Bowl losers to struggle the following season, and the Los Angeles Rams are feeling a hangover that is masked by their 3-1 record.
